The NINETY-SIX is the latest incarnation of Merida’s former World Cup proven XC and marathon machine. It inherits the forward-surging race genes of the old NINETY-SIX and combines it with a new readiness and ability to tackle today’s demanding XC and marathon courses. The carbon fibre frame platform and P-FLEX suspension is the perfect basis for a fun-packed, fast and trail loving short travel full suspension machine that helps define what a modern cross-country race bike should be. It's able to take on the rougher than ever world-class racetracks as well as the trail riders who want hyper-speed climbing with the ability to descend like never before.
The life of the privateer cross-country racer is the hardest one on the grid; delivering top-level performance but without top-level resources. That's where the NINETY-SIX XT comes in with a race-ready package of a lightweight CF4 carbon frame married to components that hit that sweet spot between performance and cost. Fox' proven 34 SC fork and Float SL Performance Elite shock serve up 100mm of travel. Shimano's benchmark 12-speed XT drivetrain needs no introduction, while matching Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes provide the performance and reliability to keep you going, lap after lap.

Merida Dual Suspension Bike Sizing Chart
Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.
The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
