Unadulterated aero road speed. The latest version of the Reacto took the cycling press by storm. A long string of test wins, perfect scores and awards confirm Merida’s successful symbiosis of the race-proven DNA of the previous model with the latest trends and technologies. Cycling Weekly calls it 'without doubt one of the most complete bikes available on the market', Cyclingnews 'an utterly brilliant and faultless machine' and Cycling Plus were 'hugely impressed'. From serious racer via enthusiast to the ambitious road rider, the Reacto is a great bike for many people. Its outstanding aerodynamic performance, reduced weight, sharp handling and super quick acceleration makes it the perfect bike for criterium racers and sprinters. At the same time, the class-leading comfort gives it the ability to play out its aerodynamic advantage also on the cobblestones – or the idyllic but potholed littered lanes of your favourite training ride.
With it’s beautifully crafted CF3 carbon frame and fork the Reacto 8000 impresses with remarkable acceleration and power transfer, low weight, impressive aerodynamics, perfect cable integration and outstanding aero bike comfort. Shimano’s Ultegra Di2 2 x 12 speed drivetrain provides precise and fast electric shifting performance while Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes with disc cooler technology ensures reliable braking performance even on the longest of descents. Rolling on a Reynolds AR60 DB carbon wheelset with Continental 5000S tubless ready 25mm tyres, the 8000 is one of the top bikes in Merida’s Reacto line-up. It loves to be raced hard but equally enjoys challenging your club buddies on the ups, the downs and the flats.

Merida Reacto Bike Sizing Chart
Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.
The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
