- High-performance LITE aluminium frame with 2.4" tyre clearance

- Wide range Shimano 12-speed drivetrain
- MERIDA wheelset with trail-ready Maxxis tyres
- Lightweight MERIDA dropper seatpost with remote lever
The Big Nine TR Limited blurs the line between cross-country and trail, with a high-value, high-performance aluminium frame that's as capable on the descents as it is on the climbs. Alongside Merida’s progressive geometry, AGILOMETER sizing and clearance for 2.4" tyres, they’ve added more aggressive rubber, a dropper seatpost and 120mm travel Manitou fork to boost descending confidence while keeping it lightning-fast on singletrack. Shimano's SLX hydraulic brakes and 12-speed drivetrain round the package out.
The Big Nine TR lite frame offers up truly modern geometry with increased standover clearance and handling stability to better deal with the tough race tracks of today. The HFS hydroforming system allows for sleeker tube profiles as well as integrated mounting points for rear racks and fenders, making fitting accessories fast, simple and reliable. Internal cable routing, including wireport cable technology enables all control cables from the handlebar to enter the frame through the headset cover, creating a clean and uncluttered look, allowing for a lighter, stronger and more aerodynamic frame structure than with conventional cable ports. While a downtube exit means cables are easily accessible for routine maintenance or replacement, but it prevents excessive movement and noise that can cause wear and distraction.

Merida Big Nine Bike Sizing Chart
Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.
The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
