The Merida Big.Seven 20 is an entry-level hardtail designed to give you the confidence to enjoy day out cross-country trail riding. A great choice for those seeking a great experience on fire roads or easier trails. A user-friendly 1x8 drivetrain, offers ample range for both steep climbs and descents at an affordable price. Quality hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable braking in all terrains and weather conditions. The lightweight aluminium frame supports a maximum wheel and tire clearance of 27.5 x 2.25" and a 135 x 9mm axle standard, making it well-suited for trail riding. The Suntour XCT30 HLO fork, with 100mm of travel, enhances comfort on natural trails with tree roots and loose rocks by helping maintain grip in corners and providing power through climbs. The suspension’s lockout feature maximises climbing efficiency while still offering 100 mm of travel for rocky descents and flat sections.

Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.
The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes.
