Merida’s Ninety Six 8000 is the ultimate setup for any discerning Cross Country Racer wanting a fast and efficient climber, that is also massively accomplished descender. The new CF4 III Carbon frame with nano matric carbon, increases impact resistance by up to 40%. P-Flex technology makes the pivot point obsolete, allowing the frame to flex near the seat and chainstay. Updated internal cable routing with a wire port headset cap, cleans up the cockpit area. The geometry has been updated with modern preferences, with a slacker head angle, steeper seat angle, a longer wheelbase and reach. Non-slip tightening tech allows selected bolts to be tightened via a TORX 30 key from just one side. The Rock Shox SID Ultimate 120mm Air fork and 100mm Rock SIDLuxe Ultimate shock offer remote lockout. A Sram GX Eagle 1x12 drivetrain, Shimano XT Hydro Disc Brakes, Maxxis Minion DHR II, 29x2.3 tyres and an internally routed dropper post ensure the Ninety Six 8000 is podium ready straight out of the box.

Merida Dual Suspension Bike Sizing Chart

Merida is an international bike brand with its headquarters in Taiwan, the R&D department is based near Stuttgart in Germany. To be based in Germany has historical reasons for MERIDA but the precise location was chosen specifically because the region around Stuttgart is one of the hot spots of the automotive and machine building industry which Germany is famous for and attracts a hugely skilled design and engineer labor force.

The Merida team are more than just highly trained and experienced bicycle creators – they simply love everything ‘bike’. Most of their R&D staff are daily bike commuters while others are serious mountain bikers, who regularly compete in Marathon, Enduro and Downhill competitions, or licensed road racers and even ambitious Ironman triathletes. Get the behind the scenes view of the Merida R&D centre and meet some of their key members of staff in the below video.
