Meet the Team

  • Name: Geoff
    Role: Team Leader
    Experience: Started my career as a Chef in 5 Star Hotels and also as a private Tour Guide in Melbourne. After traveling the world for 6 months I managed supermarkets in country Victoria and Mt Buller. Wanted something more exciting and rewarding and now have the best Career with 99 Bikes!
    Expertise: Have lead 5 stores for 99 Bikes in Australia and New Zealand over 3 years and New Zealand. Moved to New Zealand 1 year ago and which has helped me grow my knowledge in the Mountain bike world. Have knowledge in all type of bikes and love helping everyone find their dream bike.
    What do you love about bikes: There is a bike for everyone and every bike has a new home waiting! Nothing more rewarding then a customer returning to the store for their first service and sharing the journeys and experiences found 
    Current bikes: Norco Sight Carbon (first build!), Merida Reacto 8000, Merida Big Nine 5000TR 
    Favorite ride: Whistler Downhill tracks. Keen to explore more NZ tracks!

  • Name: Eugene ⚡ 

    Role: Bike Mechanic

    Experience: After working in IT for 8 years, I moved to New Zealand and started a career of a bike mechanic following my passion.

    Expertise: All bikes

    What I love about bikes: Bike is a combination of several mechanical systems. It's like Lego but better.

    Current bikes: Stels Navigator custom build

    Favourite ride: Slow riding along Tamaki Drive with a beautiful seashore view and breeze

  • Name: Keilan
    Role: Mechanic
    Experience: 1 year working as a mechanic in Auckland North shore, Rosedale. Growing up I also had to to do a lot of work on mountain bikes and road bikes, because I didn't have affordable options, I used to find spare parts on old bikes and remove the entire group set to fit them on a nicer frame. I also did that with e-bikes, batteries and motors.
    Expertise: Road bikes and hub drive e-bikes
    What do you love about bikes: To me its the most efficient and versatile means of transport.
    Current bikes: Giant contend SL2 modified with 11 speed Ultegra group set
    Favorite ride: Karapiro 100K flyers. It's fast, it's mostly flat and it's not too far from Auckland.

    Experience: I always maintain and modify my own bikes, love to ride them every day. Following my passion I joined 99 Bikes to develop my bike mechanic skills

    What do you love about bikes: I love mechanical systems and understand how they work

    Favorite ride: I like road cycling and looking forward to explore most popular Auckland road bike routes

    Role: Sales Consultant
    Experience: Having worked in the marine and outdoor industry for a long time, I am excited about helping you find the right gear for whatever your passion is. I love being active on land and on the water and enjoy spending time outside with my family as much as possible. I have been riding bikes for transport, exercise and leisure for all my life and love sharing my excitement for exploring the world on two wheels.
    Expertise: From commuter bikes to exploring New Zealand's beautiful backyard on gravel roads and beyond, I will help you find the right ride for you. I am relatively new to the bike industry but I have a sound understanding what makes a good bike great. 
    What do you love about bikes: I love the freedom and independence you can only experience on two wheels. There is nothing better than the feeling of being focused in the present moment, becoming one with the bike you are riding. It's all about the flow. Taking in our beautiful environment and most importantly: Having fun!
    Current bikes: My next bike is probably going to be a decent Gravel bike - like the Merida Silex 200
    Favorite ride: Loved exploring Northern Germany with the family
